I love putting hybrid avatars together when I get bored or stumped, even if it’s as simple as adding a pair of odd ears to an otherwise human shape. Some of my favourite things to look at are furry mods and spare parts. While I unfortunately don’t have the patience, actual talent and/or time to spend seriously modifying and retexturing things, I do like mixing and matching whatever stuff I can find… and possibly use it in RP at some point. Even if I don’t, it’s a fun and weird everyday look I can go back to from time to time. 8D
Oh my. @.@ These pretty review copies from /Wasabi Pills/ are going to have me spoiled! Yet another armour set with great attention to detail (the first one featured on this blog was Khalon), the White Death set features an impressive bone motif and fantabulous texturing. My favourite parts of the armour would have to be the helmet and the chestplate with the skillful way the sculpts were put together.
The White Death helmet doesn’t come with hair, so you can use your own! It’s worth mentioning that out of the box, you have the option to attach the helmet to your chin, mouth, or nose, without having to make a copy and then trouble yourself with realigning it properly. XD The set also doesn’t come with a weapon, but I thought this freebie axe, with animations and all, from the marketplace worked rather well. Continue reading
Inspired by Eiran’s post here, I decided to show you a peak at some of my characters. What inspires me? Well my characters can be born two very different ways. I am an art student in my first life and I do have original characters that I have brought to Second Life, hell my username is one of my characters that I play on here. And I try to recreate them on Second Life. It’s a lot harder finding the right piece of clothing that matches your drawings…
The other way is by creating an outfit first, and then basing the character of what they wear. Sloppy? Messy? Stained jeans and a half-ass thrown on top. Neat freak? Perfectly tucked in collared shirt with all the buttons correctly snapped shut.
How I make the outfit, well that depends. Sometimes a color or colors, or maybe a song. Sometimes it’s a uniform or required dress for the type of roleplay.
A search for “Tokyo” brought up this roleplay sim, and since I’d been looking for an excuse to wear my decidedly normal urban outfit in a roleplay area, I went and snapped a few pics. I’m basically recycling some items here from the Pacific Crisis Fundraiser, along with something from Menswear Fashion Week that is happening 18th to 25th of March.
Fundraisers for Japan continue to happen in SL, right after I snapped these photos I learned of the HELP JAPAN IN SL event featuring some of my favourite SL designers, most if not all that I’m familiar with, are from Asia irl. Expect my friends and I to feature items from that event very soon, but in the meantime here is the organisation’s blog link… and some more pics. :D Continue reading
As promised, here’s some (just some! expect a second round XD) of the stuff I bought at the Pacific Crisis Fundraiser, which I peppered my hybrid looks with. Not everything I’m wearing in the photos comes from the event, though, so I’ll be indicating that in the credits after the cut. Designers are offering at least one item as a 100% donation, while any others they place can range from 50% to 100% donation. :D

Yes, more urban avatars. >_> I’m a streak, I promise I have something planned that isn’t at all urban and is roleplay based, after a post about the terrible tragedy in Japan ofcourse. But positive note everyone, it’s that time of year where the hunts are in full swing! From twisted to fashion to more theme based, there is a lot to do and here is what I have picked up from the Twisted Hunt, Depraved and Luckless Hunt, and Anti-Magic Hunt, mostly the Depraved and Luckless hunt which started yesterday at 12:00 pm SLT time and ends March 30th at 11:59pm SLT.

So after a few rather dark-themed posts, let’s have something BRIGHT AND HAPPY!! Panic Jestyr and I had another faun photoshoot this time at a pretty, slightly surreal location called [.XIV] Time Will Tell. Its not a roleplay sim, but the scenery is enough to spark one’s imagination given a good look around.
Most times, popular roleplay focuses a lot on dark themes and conflict, but it doesn’t have to. Once in a while we have to lean back and take ourselves (and our characters) a little less seriously. :D
On to the topic of clothes, we’re each wearing a freebie in this photo, since I didn’t have a definite idea for a theme lol. I also simply had to take advantage of the colourful surroundings in the next couple of photos I took. Continue reading
Haha, art history joke for those who get it. XD Just finished my art history midterm so sue me for making a few art nerd jokes.
Anyway! I thought I’d share some awesome finds from one of the hardest hunts on the grid, the Twisted Hunt. With an Edgar Allen Poe theme this time around, twisted has some yummy raven-espe items up for grabs, if you can find them and with over 200 stores, there is a lot to choose from… or do the entire hunt, if you’re daring.
With my inventory recent files full of treasures (which also can be seen in Nami’s post), and a few new items. I quickly unpacked them and ran off to take some photos. Faust Steamer said I looked like some sort of “french goth” and thus I decided a quick trip to Paris, France wouldn’t hurt! (Not a roleplay sim!) Thankfully, I didn’t need to get my passport and go to the airport, Avenue Champs Elysees took me there, or so I think. Continue reading
Since it seems I’ve been living under a rock for a few years, the Andrew Lloyd Webber sequel to the Phantom of the Opera musical, “Love Never Dies”, came to my attention only recently. I raged a little bit because the classic story is kind of close to my heart, but I went and listened to a couple songs anyway.
… Well… try to deny it and try to protest, but I’m a sucker for musicals. :p
I don’t have any access to seeing the actual LND show at the moment so I stuck to trusty old Wikipedia (hrnnn lol…) for the time being. So taking a little inspiration from the synopsis posted there, I threw on a quick outfit and picked the Siden fairground for my setting. Hence this post. Continue reading
